Sometimes you want relationships to work and they just don’t. Shut Up and Dance is about one of those bittersweet, toxic situations. “I liked a girl who didn’t feel the same way I did. No matter what I did, it just wasn’t good enough. She was running around on me. I was down in the dumps. Nothing I did was ever good enough.
